Doing Business in Leander
Leander sits along US 183 and the 183A Toll in the fast-growing northwest corner of the Austin region. The 183A extension that opened in April 2025 gives almost 16 miles of nonstop travel between Liberty Hill and northwest Austin, and Leander is the final stop on CapMetro's commuter rail line to downtown Austin.
Northline, a 116-acre mixed-use development at US 183 and San Gabriel Parkway, is bringing homes, shops and public space to the city, and St. John Properties plans a 95,000-square-foot office building there. Industrial space is coming too: Leander183 Commerce Center is planned for up to 1.3 million square feet of Class A industrial space, and St. John Properties is also developing flex, R&D and retail space near SH 29 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard.
Leander ISD is headquartered here, as are H.L. Chapman Pipeline Construction and Liberty Civil Construction, and Austin Community College opened its San Gabriel Campus in Leander in 2018.
